Canadian Rockies Glacier Stories Workshop

The Interpretive Guides Association is putting on a one-day workshop on glacier stories, hosted by Lynn Martel, author of Stories of Ice: Adventure, Commerce and Creativity on Canada’s Glaciers.

What to expect

We’ll meet up at the White Mountain Adventures office in Banff and hop aboard a WMA van. We’ll drive out to the Peyto Lake Lookout where we’ll spend about 90 minutes learning stories – with fabulous photos! – related to that glacier. Next stop is Bow Lake, where we’ll walk partway around the lake and share more compelling stories about the multiple glaciers visible from that location. Final stop will be a quick visit to Lake Louise, for more stories.

Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024
Time: 9:00am – 4:30pm (Mountain Time)
Location: Banff, AB. The bus will depart from the White Mountain Adventures Office in Banff and take us up to the Icefields Parkway. We’ll stop for short hikes at Peyto Lake/Glacier Lookout, Bow Lake, and Lake Louise.
CPD Hours: 8 hours
Price: $70 (members) / $85 (non-members)
